count, see <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2021\/04\/30\/a-spring-version-of-v9253\/\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2021\/03\/18\/in-this-article-i-discuss-how-i-managed-to-use-the-best-pattern-in-the-world-v9253-but-match-it-with-the-wrong-fabric-stiff-does-not-work-with-this-one\/\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2021\/01\/22\/taking-the-v9253-dress-from-summer-to-winter\/\">here<\/a> for the Autumn and Spring versions; <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2020\/06\/22\/why-stop-with-one-my-second-v9253-dress\/\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2020\/06\/20\/a-new-favourite-pattern-the-v9253-dress\/\">here<\/a> for the summer versions.<\/li><li><strong>Fabric: <\/strong>a lightweight cotton with embroidered appliques all over, found on E-Bay (2m left <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebay.co.uk\/itm\/324436131609?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D83d9bb4d83b64205a931cb3e78f34479%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D324436131609%26itm%3D324436131609%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&amp;_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&amp;_trkparms=pageci%3A1a1ca2ac-9488-11ec-82b6-02483aff70b2%7Cparentrq%3A25d6639c17f0ab8f1aedbe22fff77380%7Ciid%3A1\">here<\/a> at the time of writting). This is a truly special cloth and I am thrilled to have got my hands on it!<\/li><li><strong>Size and fit<\/strong>: I used my previously cut pieces of pattern (size 10 with a FBA explained <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2020\/06\/20\/a-new-favourite-pattern-the-v9253-dress\/\">here<\/a>) but I have lost a bit of weight due to acute food allergies\u2026 So I think the FBA is not really needed anymore sadly\u2026. But the skirt fit is perfect.<\/li><li><strong>Changes I made to the pattern<\/strong>: along with the FBA, I lengthened the sleeves and cut my skirt so that the scalloped edge of the fabric would be visible. <\/li><li><strong>What I like in this pattern<\/strong>: I am not into 70\u2019s style at all but for an obscure reason I absolutely adore this pattern. Easy to make, easy to wear, it works with a wide range of fabrics for a wide range of occasions. One of the best patterns ever!<\/li><li><strong>Love factor<\/strong>: enormous, but that\u2019s the case of all the versions I have made of this pattern but one (wrong choice of fabric class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Pattern<\/strong>: this is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/store13087091.ecwid.com\/Semis-p187320950\">Semis dress by Delphine and Morrissette<\/a>. Although I showed you <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2022\/02\/20\/sewing-summer-dresses-in-winter-my-resort-collection-part-1\/\">my rainbow Semis dress<\/a> previously, this one is actually the first version of Semis I made. And the one that made me fall in love with this pattern!<\/li><li><strong>Fabric:<\/strong>\u00a0a light weight cotton (with a tiny bit of polyester) from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.croftmill.co.uk\/polyester-shirting-puff-sleeves\">Croftmill<\/a>, white with weave-in pale blue spots &#8211; 24.5m available here at the time of writting. Most people would use this fabric quality for shirts but I really like it for summer dresses, as it make them super light. I do really like this fabric<\/li><li><strong>Size and fit<\/strong>: I cut a size 38 based on my bust measurement and the fit was perfect. But I wanted a more adjusted silhouette than that of the pattern, which I find too large at the starting point of the skirt. So I took some fabric off from the front panels to make the dress more adjusted at the underbust point (if there is such a word) and it worked wonders.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Changes I made to the pattern<\/strong>: only a fit adjustment to the bodice, nothing else.<\/li><li><strong>What I like in this pattern<\/strong>:The pattern is very straightforward and perfectly designed, the fit is impressively good with so few pattern pieces, and I adore the frilly straps. No dislikes at all.<\/li><li><strong>Love factor<\/strong>: This dress is one of my favourites from my Resort Collection.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sewing the Primerose dress class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Pattern<\/strong>: I used <a href=\"https:\/\/citronille.fr\/fr\/patrons-couture\/337-primerose.html\">the adult version of Primerose by Citronille<\/a>. This is initially a tunic pattern but I lengthened it and added a bottom ruffle to turn it into a dress. I made Primerose dresses for my girls when they were little (see <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2018\/08\/29\/my-girls-citronille-handmade-wardrobe\/\">here<\/a>) but this is the first one for me.<\/li><li><strong>Fabric:<\/strong> An eyelet cotton fabric bought too long ago for me to remember where it comes from. There was no border to the fabric so I cut it all by hand &#8211; quite a long process.<\/li><li><strong>Size and fit<\/strong>: I cut the smallest size (36) but I think the 14yo of the child pattern would have worked better, as there is a lot of extra fabric everywhere. I am frankly not convinced about the fit of this dress, it seems no allowance has been made at all for an adult woman chest.<\/li><li><strong>Changes I made to the pattern<\/strong>: making it into a dress, adding a bottom ruffle and lining the top part of the dress with cotton lawn.<\/li><li><strong>What I like in this pattern<\/strong>: I like this type of neckline and struggle to find it in patterns but I am quite disappointed by the overall fit. I also think I didn\u2019t get the dress\/ruffle length proportion right. <\/li><li><strong>Love factor<\/strong>: I am a bit disappointed to have used such a nice fabric for a disappointing dress shape, this is not a dress I like much.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I really adore the first two of the dresses of this article.
