The only difference this time is that <strong>I went for short sleeves and I omitted the piping around the button placket<\/strong>. This is my fourth time using <strong>M6696 <\/strong>(&nbsp;(<a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2021\/04\/21\/sewing-for-spring-my-denim-shirt-dress\/\">here<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2019\/05\/24\/lemons-and-buttons\/\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2019\/07\/10\/piping-and-buttons-but-sparkly-please\/\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2021\/05\/13\/sewing-a-second-shirt-dress-for-spring-combining-the-m6696-and-b6702-patterns\/\">here<\/a>) and I recently reviewed the pattern in full details (<a href=\"\/en\/?p=6838\">here<\/a>) so not much more to add<strong>. This is an absolutely impeccable pattern, with a gorgeous shape, a beautiful finish and perfect sizing <\/strong>(it has bust cup options, which help massively the bust fitting). <strong>The instructions are extremely clear <\/strong>and will immensely help you if you&#8217;re sewing your first shirt dress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for <strong>B6702<\/strong>, I did not sew the bodice but it has custom bust cups too, a huge positive in my view. <strong>The skirt is very pretty but I wish it had a bit more volume<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beware that <strong>when making this dress\u00a0<\/strong>(either following one of the patterns or mixing the two),\u00a0<strong>you need to be careful about your button placket. This is something which particularly annoyed me with my denim dress! This prompted me to commit to waist-stays on all my future shirt dresses!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is a waist-stay<\/strong>? If you look at this inside of my dress, you can see that there is <strong>Petersham ribbon at the waist, closing with a hook-and-eye<\/strong>. That&#8217;s basically my waist stay! If you fancy it, there is still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.croftmill.co.uk\/pima-cotton-lawn-floral-painting\">some stock left!<\/a> I was absolutely blown out by the quality of <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2021\/06\/11\/sewing-ameliamccalls-m7892\/\">the Pima cotton I recently bought for this dress<\/a>, so very keen to reorder a similar quality.
