After the Blossom motif which I explored extensively ( <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2020\/01\/10\/first-knitted-lace-the-blossom-shawl\/\">one shawl<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2020\/04\/30\/my-girls-blossom-jumpers\/\">two jumpers<\/a>, two cardis <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/2020\/05\/10\/blossom-cardi-in-lily-white\/\">here <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/en\/2020\/05\/18\/my-second-blossom-cardigan\/\">here<\/a>)<strong>, I fell in love with the Enchant\u00e9e lace when seeing it on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ateliersvila.fr\/mon-pull-enchantee-au-caramel\/\">Atelier Svila\u2019s blog<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However <strong>I was not overly keen with the dropped shoulders and the loose fit. <\/strong>So I decided to follow the pattern very loosely. So <strong>from the inital pattern I kept:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>the lace motif <\/strong>&#8211; I adore foliage lace and have been on the lookout for some time; and this motif has the added bonus of being extremely easy to memorise.<\/li><li><strong>the i-cord finish of the neckline<\/strong>. I was never keen on the traditional ribbing finish and i-cord is genius idea, it is a perfect match with the delicate details of the lace!  <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"895\" height=\"598\" src=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/C5E911C3-B249-4978-8139-609D5AFABB51.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3845\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/C5E911C3-B249-4978-8139-609D5AFABB51.jpeg 895w, https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/C5E911C3-B249-4978-8139-609D5AFABB51-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/C5E911C3-B249-4978-8139-609D5AFABB51-768x513.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 895px) 100vw, 895px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"895\" height=\"598\" src=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/19D33192-5314-4CA9-A0B5-7DB6BEB4DB35.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3847\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/19D33192-5314-4CA9-A0B5-7DB6BEB4DB35.jpeg 895w, https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/19D33192-5314-4CA9-A0B5-7DB6BEB4DB35-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/19D33192-5314-4CA9-A0B5-7DB6BEB4DB35-768x513.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 895px) 100vw, 895px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But otherwise I made a number of changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>I worked with completely different yarn and needles to what is recommended <\/strong>( double strand of Drops Kid Silk 21 cobalt blue and Drops Baby Merino 33 electric blue)<strong>, so ended-up with a completely different gauge<\/strong> &#8211; not a problem  as I wanted the exact same size and shape and my blue Blossom sweater and the Enchantee lace is very similar size to the Blossom one (17 stitches wide versus 16).<\/li><li><strong>I wanted a close fit and reasonably short length<\/strong>; so I cast on 8 motifs of the lace, knitted 3 cm of ribbing and then the lace up to under-arm (37cm in total) in the round. I then split the back and front, knitted another 10cm at the front and started the neckline decrease, following the pattern indications.
