color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">the <b>lemons on white background<\/b> fabric comes from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aliexpress.com\/premium\/fabric.html?site=glo&amp;isrefine=y&amp;g=y&amp;d=y&amp;origin=y&amp;SearchText=fabric&amp;CatId=200003017&amp;initiative_id=SB_20190301101743&amp;isViewCP=y\">Aliexpress<\/a>, it took ages to arrive from China and is actually a bit transparent so will require full lining;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10.66px; color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fabric.com\/buy\/0554946\/telio-bloom-stretch-cotton-sateen-lemon-navy\"><b>lemons on navy background<\/b><\/a> comes from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fabric.com\/\">fabric.com<\/a> in the US, I discovered it on Emily Hallman&#8217;s website and immediately ordered 5 yards (just to be on the safe side&#8230;); it is slightly stretchy and absolute beautiful quality cotton;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10.66px; color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">and obviously to justify the shipping\/ customs cost, I ordered the l<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fabric.com\/buy\/0631266\/telio-bloom-stretch-cotton-sateen-lemon-mint\"><b>emon on turquoise background<\/b><\/a> fabric too&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10.66px; color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.croftmill.co.uk\/products\/cotton-fabrics\/cotton-poplin-fabric\/bananas-pattern-navy-cotton-poplin-dress-fabric-product.html\"><b>bananas on navy background<\/b> <\/a>fabric is from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.croftmill.co.uk\/\">Croftmill<\/a>, I already made a dress with it last summer but I&#8217;m very tempted to order some more&#8230; color: #333333; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">As for pattern choice,<b> I wanted a fitted dress with a retro style but EASY to make<\/b> &#8211; after my <a href=\"https:\/\/sixmignons.com\/2019\/02\/17\/first-vogue-disappointment-the-v8997-dress\/\">V8997<\/a> ordeal, simplicity was my priority! I picked a size 10\/ D cup, as I always do for the Vogue Custom Fit patterns, but although the muslin seemed perfect, the final dress was way too large &#8211; probably due to the slight stretch in the fabric. <b>The changes I ended-up making to the pattern<\/b> were the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10.66px; color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><b><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">remove 1.5cm from each side of the bodice<\/span><\/b><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10.66px; color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><b><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">replace the pattern skirt by a semi-circle<\/span><\/b><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">, which I find much more flattering on me;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10.66px; color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><b><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">shorten the sleeves to 3\/4 (<\/span><\/b><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">about 15cm off I think);<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10.66px; color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">no lining of the bodice (I finished the neckline with bias tape) but <b>full lining of the skirt<\/b>;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10.66px; color: #333333; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">and as usual for me, I i<b>ncreased the armhole by 1.5cm<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Despite the bodice adjustments, <b>the bust fit is not perfect, to my great dismay<\/b>.
